Questions and Answers

What is a Sound Bath?

A sound bath is a deeply immersive, full-body relaxation experience. During a session, a Sound Facilitator plays therapeutic instruments that create gentle sound waves and vibrations designed to support relaxation, nervous system regulation, and overall well-being.

Rather than “doing” anything, you simply rest and receive. Many people describe sound baths as calming, meditative, and restorative for the mind, body, and spirit.

Is there science behind sound baths?

Scientific evidence suggests sound baths promote relaxation, reduce stress, anxiety, tension, and depression, and can improve mood, spiritual well-being, and even cognitive function, with studies showing effects on heart rate variability, cortisol levels, and brainwave activity (alpha/theta). While specific claims about cellular impacts are emerging, the core mechanism involves inducing the body's "relaxation response," moving it from "fight-or-flight" to "rest-and-digest," supported by small studies and research on singing bowls.

How would you describe your style?

I am a crystal sound facilitator specializing in instruments made from clear quartz crystal. These instruments produce soothing, ethereal, almost fairy-like tones that fill the space and gently guide you into a relaxed, present state.

Clear quartz is known for its ability to absorb, store, release, and regulate energy. It is often associated with clearing stagnant or heavy energy and supporting balance across the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels.

My style is gentle, playful, and powerful. I keep the sound continuous and intentional for 40–45 minutes, creating a safe and supportive container for deep rest. I take great pride in my work and feel truly honored to share sound healing with those who are open to the experience.

What if I fall asleep?

That’s completely okay — and very common. Your body and nervous system still receive the benefits of the sound, even while sleeping. There’s nothing to “miss.”

What happens during a Sound Bath?

You’ll be invited to lie down on a yoga mat or recline comfortably in a chair. Most people choose to rest with a blanket, pillow under the knees, and an eye mask. Once settled, I begin playing crystal instruments, allowing the sound to wash over and through you.

Many people experience deep relaxation, vivid imagery, emotional release, or simply a peaceful sense of calm. Every experience is unique — there is no “right” way to feel.

How should I prepare for my first Sound Bath?

Preparation is simple:

  • Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing

  • Bring a yoga mat, blanket, pillow, eye mask, and water (if you’d like)

  • Journals are welcome for reflection afterward

  • Try not to eat within 2 hours of the session

Most importantly, come with an open mind and allow yourself to rest.

I’d love to bring friends or family, but they’re not into “woo-woo” things. What should I tell them?

This comes up all the time. I often suggest describing a sound bath as a deeply relaxing live music experience. You can lie down or sit comfortably and simply enjoy the sounds — no beliefs, meditation experience, or spiritual background required.

Many first-time clients are pleasantly surprised by how grounded and accessible the experience feels.
