Before crystal bowls became part of my work, music was already part of my life. I've played piano, flute, piccolo, oboe and percussion, and I've spent time singing in choir and working with my voice.

When I eventually began working with quartz crystal singing bowls, my musical background naturally came with me.

I began listening for relationships between the bowls.

Harmony. Dissonance. Overtones. Rhythm. Intensity. Resolution.

And, just as importantly, silence.

Today, my seven crystal bowls are the foundation of the sound experiences I create.

Seven Bowls. Seven Notes.

My collection consists of seven quartz crystal singing bowls corresponding with the musical notes C through B.

Each bowl has its own voice.

Played alone, a bowl produces a rich, sustained tone.

Played together, something much more interesting happens.

Their sounds overlap. Harmonics emerge. Vibrations interact. One tone can completely change how another is experienced.

That is where I love to work.

Rather than moving mechanically from one bowl to the next, I listen and respond to what is happening in the room.

Sometimes the sound becomes powerful and layered.

Sometimes it becomes incredibly delicate.

Sometimes several bowls sing together.

And sometimes the most important thing I can play is nothing at all.

Every sound bath is created live, which means no two are exactly the same.

The Traditional Chakra Connections

Crystal singing bowls are commonly associated with the body's seven-chakra system.

My seven bowls follow those traditional associations:

C — Root Chakra
Traditionally associated with grounding, stability, security and our connection to the physical world.

D — Sacral Chakra
Traditionally associated with creativity, emotion, pleasure and our relationship with change.

E — Solar Plexus Chakra
Traditionally associated with confidence, personal power and our sense of self.

F — Heart Chakra
Traditionally associated with love, compassion, connection and emotional openness.

G — Throat Chakra
Traditionally associated with communication, expression and speaking authentically.

A — Third Eye Chakra
Traditionally associated with intuition, awareness and inner reflection.

B — Crown Chakra

Traditionally associated with consciousness, spirituality and connection beyond ourselves.

These traditions are part of my background as an energy worker and crystal practitioner, and they continue to influence my relationship with the bowls.

But you don't need to know anything about chakras to experience one of my sound baths.

You don't even need to believe in them.

Sound doesn't require a belief system.

You can simply listen.

Why Quartz Crystal?

Quartz has a long history of use in technology as well as spiritual and wellness traditions.

For me, though, one of its most important qualities is much simpler:

It creates extraordinary sound.

Crystal singing bowls can produce long, sustained tones with rich overtones that fill a room and can often be physically felt as well as heard.

That combination of sound and vibration is what originally drew me to them—and why, after years of working with them, I'm still fascinated by what seven seemingly simple instruments can create together.

What About 432 Hz?

You'll see 432 Hz mentioned throughout some of my work and recordings.

I enjoy working with this tuning because I love its character and the way it sounds with my instruments.

There are many extraordinary claims online about the specific healing properties of 432 Hz. I don't need to make those promises.

I'd rather let you experience the sound yourself.

Listen. Feel it. Decide for yourself.

Where Music Meets Energy

I've spent more than a decade working with energy and crystals.

That experience absolutely comes into the room with me.

I pay attention to the person or people I'm playing for. I pay attention to the feeling of the room. I work intuitively. And sometimes I find myself drawn toward a particular bowl, combination of tones or direction that I hadn't planned.

But I don't believe you need to understand any of that to receive the experience.

There isn't a test.

There isn't a right way to feel.

And I'm not trying to convince you that something magical happened.

My job is to create the sound.

Your job is simply to experience it.

I Play All Seven

I don't play one bowl because I believe one part of you needs fixing.

I play all seven as instruments.

A sound bath becomes something entirely different when the bowls begin interacting with one another.

Tones overlap.

Harmonics emerge.

Vibrations build and resolve.

A bowl can lead the sound for several minutes and then almost disappear into another.

There can be intensity.

There can be softness.

There can be space.

This is where my musical background, years of energy work and relationship with these instruments come together.

I don't follow the exact same sequence every time.

I listen. And then I play.

Experience Them in Person

Recordings are beautiful.

Headphones are beautiful.

But there is something entirely different about being in the same room as crystal bowls while they're being played.

You hear the sound.

You feel the vibration.

And for 40 uninterrupted minutes, you don't have to do anything with either of them.

No complicated ritual.

No expectation.

No pressure to have a profound experience.
